    Vacancy at the Belgian Consulate General


    A temporary position is available at Consulate General of Belgium in Los Angeles from October 28, 2008 to May 10, 2009.

    We are looking for a dynamic consular assistant, with the following job description:

    - provide consular information to Belgians in the U.S.
    - registration of Belgians at the Consulate
    - maintain and update the National Registry
    - prepare nationality files
    - other administrative tasks (draft official notary documents, issue consular certificates, etc)

    The successful candidate will:

    - have excellent social and communication skills
    - be able to work independently as well as in a small team
    - be fluent in English and in at least one of Belgium’s official languages (French or Dutch), with a basic knowledge of the other language.
    - be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident (“green card”) of the U.S., or have an A-visa for the duration of the assignment.
