TRICKS/TIPS
The site offers several 'smart' LIVE-LINK auto-formatting features:

SITE LINKS
Links that START with HTTP:// will be auto-linked (ie people can click on them). You MUST include the 'http://' or nothing happens, and do not add punctuation after the URL e.g.
www.yahoo.com (no http, no link)
http://www.yahoo.com (http, bravo, we have a link)
http://www.yahoo.com. (http, check, but... a period after the link, oops, auto-linked end result does not work!)

IMAGES/FLYERS (jpg, png, gif)
We do not allow you to upload images to our site, but.. you can include images in your event posting by simply adding the image location in the running text. This means you can include images hosted on your own web site, or simply upload your image to an existing image hosting service, e.g. Flickr, Picasa, etc., and include the public image location/URL in your post.

The forum will insert the image in the post (resized if required), e.g. the TAB image above was included with:

(note: added a space before the // to show you the link (and not the image). Do not include a space yourself, or the image will not show, and be careful that the link does is not followed by other characters, since this breaks the auto-linking/insertion)

MP3s
We do not allow you to upload MP3s, but... you if you include a link to an MP3 in your post, which ends in the .MP3 extension, we will auto-link it to an MP3 player. There are various search tools to find hosted MP3 files on the web, including http://www.skreemr.com (right-click on title there, copy link, paste in these forums)

HOW TO UPLOAD YOUR FLYERS/IMAGES FOR USE ON THE NLBORRELS FORUMS

#1 - Make sure attachment is an image (ie JPG, GIF, PNG etc.) *not* a PDF or word document (or tell the person preparing the document to convert it for you)

#2 - Resize the to roughly 1024x768 or 1024 max width using tools on your MAC/PC or use our favorite online image tool http://www.picnik.com (free) and save it on your desktop.

#3 - Email the picture as an attachment to our "secret" mail upload address

NOTES:
The SUBJECT LINE of your email is the IMAGE TITLE
The EMAIL BODY becomes the description (so do NOT include a signature).
You can add TAGS by inserting adding TAGS: TAG1 "DOUBLE TAG" to the end of the subject line, e.g.
Subject: Lucy, my new cat tags: cute "black cat"

#4 - Wait a couple of minutes for it to arrive, then check this link:

#5 - Click on the picture you just uploaded, then
on IE: right-click on image, properties, manually copy the Address (URL)
on FF: right-click on image, select Copy Image Location
on SAFARI: right-click on image (cmd-click?), select Copy Image Address

#6 - Open your forum post (or start a new one), go to the spot where you want to insert your flyer, paste the image address on a new line, save post to (p)review.
