    Photography Workshop: Fall 2013, NYC
    Eight week photography workshop
    Mondays | October 21- December 9 | 6:00 - 8:00 PM | $240
The Netherlands Consulate General, 666 Third Avenue, 19th Floor
    Instructor: René Clement |

Developing a personal aesthetic and producing artwork that is truly one’s own are both ongoing processes for any artist regardless of the medium. Learning to create a cohesive body of work, while developing a personal perspective and vision is a great challenge for any photographer. This workshop will assist students in developing a more personal expression in their photography, while also exploring both the conscious and intuitive understanding of the visual language of photography.

The workshop will be comprised of lectures, discussions and hands-on technical courses, including an overview of the essential principles, techniques, and tools for lighting a variety of situations, and the study of the works of master photographers.
Material covered will include composition, media, equipment, lighting, print style, and emotional weight in imagery.

Students will be placed in an assignment environment so that they can work on a story or sequence of images which can be presented as a cohesive group. The stories can either document an individual, family, a particular trade or profession, or a single theme. Students will work individually to prepare a body of work during the workshop. The weekly photo assignments will be presented in class for critique and review by the instructor. Students may work in black-and-white or color.

The goal of the workshop is that over the six week period, your emerging talent will be nurtured, you will start to develop a personal voice in your work and your love for photography is reaffirmed.
