KLM Dutch Orange Day 2013: a very special one

This year will be the ninth time that the Dutch Community in Victoria celebrates their national day with the people of Melbourne.

It will be a special commemorative event for all Dutch people around the world. This year Queen Beatrix's birthday celebrations will also mark her abdication after 33 years and will see the inauguration of King Willem-Alexander.

Together with the Dutch Orange Day committee, I invite you all to join in the festivities on the day. So dress up in orange and get in touch with the Dutch.

    Hans Nieuwland
Consul of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

KLM Dutch Orange Day Melbourne 2013, the 9th Dutch Orange Day, takes place on Sunday 28th of April 2013. Dutch and non-Dutch people are invited to come to Queensbridge Square on Southbank to celebrate the last Koninginnedag (Queens Day) - next year will be Kings Day - and the succession to the throne: Queen Beatrix to King Willem-Alexander.

The festivities are a mix of culture and celebrations, presenting the rich Dutch culture with folkdancing, music, a vrijmarkt (free-market), famous Dutch delicacies and a KLM ticket auction (the highest bidder wins a return ticket to Amsterdam).

So dress in orange and celebrate this very special Dutch Orange Day with many like-minded people.!!!
