    NAF-Biz New York and ABN Amro invite you for a networking event and panel discussion featuring the following topic:

    “Hiring the Right U.S. Employees”

    One of the main challenges for Dutch companies in the U.S is hiring the right U.S. employees. How do you pick the right person for your business? How do you evaluate their credentials? Is the candidate really as good as it seems? Panelists from ABN AMRO, YER Recruiting and !Melk Landscape Architecture will share their experiences.

    Mr. Jaap Kalverkamp, Country Executive USA at ABN Amro Bank N.V.

    Jaap Kalverkamp is Country Executive for ABN AMRO in the US since January 2012, a member of the Global management team for Large Corporates and Merchant Banking, a board member of ABN AMRO Clearing Chicago and a member of various US credit , risk and capital committees.

    Mr. Kalverkamp began his career as a trainee at Bank Mees & Hope in 1991, followed by a stint in Singapore where he worked for MeesPierson from 1997–2001. Subsequently between 2001–2005, Mr. Kalverkamp was based in Rotterdam, where he was responsible for the Global Shipping Group of Fortis Bank. Between 2005–2008, Mr. Kalverkamp returned to Asia where he served as the CEO of Merchant Banking and was based in Hong Kong.

    A graduate from the Technical University in Delft as a Naval Architect, Mr. Kalverkamp is a keen sailor, and married with three children.

    With over a decade of experience in the executive recruitment industry, gained both in Europe and the US. Mr. Kramer’s specialties are Corporate Finance, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering. Having worked within the Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Software, FMCG, Retail, Manufacturing, and Automotive Industries, Mr. Kramer has a true entrepreneurial spirit, and is not afraid to take risks.

    Trained as a landscape architect and industrial designer, Jerry van Eyck’s education has given him an unusual breadth and depth of skills that he applies to every project under his purview. To date, Mr. Van Eyck has collaborated with and led international teams on award-winning projects and competitions that span the globe, including London’s Jubilee Gardens, the 100 acres Park for the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza, Egypt, One North Park in Singapore and Lincoln Park in Miami Beach.

    While he was a partner at West 8, he was the project director of the team winning the international design competition for the Governors Island Park and Public Space Design in New York and after being awarded the contract, the managing principal for the Masterplan Stage of this prestigious project.

    Panel discussion will be moderated by Jeroen Ansink.

    Jeroen Ansink has been a financial economic journalist for seventeen years, fourteen of which as a correspondent in New York. Over the course of his career, he has contributed to more than forty newspapers and major magazines in the Netherlands. In the past two years, he has been working on interviewing America's most prominent management thinkers, including Michael Porter, Jim Collins, Tom Peters, Edgar Schein, Gary Hamel, Jeffrey Pfeffer, Daniel Goleman and Robert S. Kaplan. The interviews will appear in the book Galerij der Groten, scheduled to be published in 2013 and can be read on his website www.aboutmanagement.org
