    Eelco Keij, standing up for expats: As most of you will know, earlier this year Dutch nationals who also are a citizen of another country came close to losing their right of having two passports. Due to the fact that the negotiations between VVD, CDA and PPV failed this decision was put on hold. A new cabinet might decide to finalize the bill anyway. Eelco Keij has been very active in opposing this bill and is now a candidate for D66. Like a real American campaign he will be visiting several American cities to promote his candidacy. You are all invited to meet him on August 29 at 7:30pm, listen to and discuss his and your views. A few of the points he would like to speak about are:

    - "International Dutchies" (400k to 500k voters in 2010!) deserve a separate political agenda in The Hague, with each Party;
    - If we can get more "expat" candidates their influence will hopefully be stronger at the next elections;
    - Explanation of dual nationality, what happened, where are we now, what do the different political parties want;
    - Online voting must be realized now, ballot papers that are sent by mail get lost or arrive to late;
    - Brief notes on other battle points for international Dutch, e.g. return to the Netherlands with a foreign partner, AOW issues, administrative issues at Consulate and Embassy.

    Host: Dutch Club of Chicago. The meeting will be held at the office of Greenberg Traurig at 77 West Wacker Drive, Suite 3100, Chicago. A voluntary contribution of $20 is requested to cover the costs.
