    Internship/Trainee January-June 2012

    New Amsterdam is looking for an intern for a minimum of 5 months starting January 2012. New Amsterdam advises and represents companies that want to set up their business on the US market and companies that want to do business on the procurement market of developing organizations. New Amsterdam's services range from providing US incorporation advice, back office support, market research, to representation services.
    New Amsterdam is looking for an ambitious student (bachelor level) with excellent communication skills and an international mindset. The trainee will mainly focus on organizing the EU UN-Procurement Seminar ( See the description of the assignment below.

    Description of the interns assignment

    Mid January- Mid May 2011
    Since April 2003, New Amsterdam Trade & Consultancy (NATC) has organized the yearly EU UN-Procurement Seminar on behalf of the European Procurement Forum (EUPF). The seminar is attended by more than 100 European based-companies and is a joint effort by the Consulate-Generals and Missions of 27 countries within the European Union (EU) that established the not-for-profit organization European Procurement Forum for this purpose.     The main goals of the seminar are:
    - Providing European companies with information and tools to access the UN Procurement market in an efficient and effective way;
    - Allowing EU companies to present themselves to UN Procurement staff;
    - Offering participating UN Organizations the opportunity to meet with potential new vendors in one-on-one meetings.
    - Giving companies the opportunity for B2B networking with other participants in order to increase joint efforts. Provide

    The Interns assignment will mainly focus on assisting with the coordination of this seminar:
    Coordination and Communication:
    - With organizing partner EUPF
    - With participating EU companies (+/- 100 companies)
    - With vendors such as: location, catering, etcetera
    - Administrative
    - Budgetary
    - Collection of participation fees from companies through PayPal
    - Payment of costs to vendors such as: location, catering, insurance, etcetera
    - Evaluation of seminar with EU companies and EUPF
    - Creating and distributing of thumb sticks with presentations
    - Design and distribution of digital brochures and online materials
    - Design / maintenance of website for the event
